Authority in the Storms of Life

Authority in the Storms of Life

Do you find yourself in the storms of life? Perhaps you've experienced actual natural disasters or are in the midst of an intense spiritual storm....in this video we discuss authority in the storms and how to maintain your peace by faithfully believing in the promises of God.

Spiritual warfare is real but thankfully we are overcomers through the power of Jesus!

You may have noticed less blogs being published lately. Partly because my focus has been primarily on my family and also because God has asked that I begin to use YouTube more to produce encouraging content and initiate Kingdom Conversations.

I’d be honored if you’d subscribe to the channel and invite a few friends! I love to hear from you in the comments of the blog & YouTube how these messages are impacting you and what other topics you’d suggest!

Imminent & Eminent

{Inspired by the Holy Spirit on 3/16/16}

The Holy Spirit sure wanted my attention last night. He woke me up many times with His Divine call. Isn’t it funny how God works? It makes me laugh at how He operates outside our time. I heard it said that God likes to speak when we’re at rest because He can finally grab ahold of our minds without distraction. I find the Lord speaks to me frequently when I’m at a place of rest and sometimes His downloads don’t seem to make a lot of sense as they’re fragmented. But it’s in those times when He delivers a Word (rhema) or vision because He wants for us to dive in and explore further because there’s a journey He desires to take us on.
How dare we not delve in further to uncover and discover what He wants to show us?

Here is my attempt to do just that:

I currently find myself in the middle of a battle. Due to a crazy and unexpected turn of events, I find myself under opposition and it feels as though my heart is being assaulted. It's an intense season of spiritual warfare and I'm being tested with how I respond to it. In the middle of the night, I was awoken with an incessant word on repeat in my heart. Over and over and over. Like a broken record. It was a word I'm not incredibly familiar with.

Does this ever happen to you?! You get a word...literally A word and it just repeats in your spirit over and over until you Google it or ask God to show you what the heck He's trying to communicate?!

This particular morning, the word was IMMINENT

  1. about to happen: "they were in imminent danger of being swept away"
  2. archaic

Synonyms: impending, close (at hand), near, (fast) approaching, coming, forthcoming, on the way, in the offing, in the pipeline, on the horizon, in the air, just around the corner, coming down the pike, expected, anticipated, brewing, looming, threatening, menacing; informal in the cards.

Then I was led to EMINENT

Screen Shot 2018-02-12 at 9.01.27 PM.png

adjective: eminent

(of a person) famous and respected within a particular sphere or profession: "one of the world's most eminent statisticians"

Synonyms: illustrious, distinguished, renowned, esteemed, preeminent, notable, noteworthy, great, prestigious, important, influential, affluential, outstanding, noted, of note; famous, celebrated, prominent, well known, lionized, acclaimed, exalted, revered, august, venerable.

Okay so what's the message?!

When you feel like you’re in imminent danger of being swept away by the enemy or his demonic spirits, hold strong to the truth that the world’s eminent Savior is already at work along with the Angel Armies to guard and protect you. The Eminent One will squash the plots, plans, attacks and schemes of the imminent danger and will save you.

0o0o0o0o Did you catch that!?

  • No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
  • You've gotten a reputation as a bad-news people, you people of Judah and Israel, but I'm coming to save you. From now on, you're the good-news people. Don't be afraid. Keep a firm grip on what I'm doing." Keep Your Lives Simple and Honest  (Zechariah 8:13 MSG)
  • The LORD is my light and my salvation--so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger , so why should I tremble? (Psalm 27:1 NLT)
  • "The LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully, (Deuteronomy 28:13 NASB)
  • Don't be afraid. I am with you. Don't tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories. (Isaiah 41:10 CEV)

Friend, a word of advice: Search your scriptures and write them out, keep them close and pray them over yourself when in battle. Remember, the Word of God is your Weapon!

I am believing someone needed to see this right now. It's been contained in my unpublished archives and I feel led to share it NOW!

Let me pray with you:

Lord, we thank you for your promised provision and protection for your people. I am believing God for those that are reading that may feel the threat of imminent danger to instead be reminded today of the Eminent One, Jesus, who has saved us from sin and death. Holy Spirit, Our Advocate and Comforter, please draw near to the hearts that are longing for the evidence of your indwellingment. Give them strength and courage, confidence and security that the Angel Armies are on assignment to protect them everywhere they go. Thank you for providing a peace that surpasses all understanding and a holy boldness to arise and declare the Word of Truth to the spirits that conspire against my friends. We lift up our eyes to the hills, Father for we know that's where our help comes from. Nothing is too big for You to handle and because we're covered by the loving blood of Jesus we can proclaim victory because we are part of Your winning team. Thank you, God for turning things around and providing testimonies for my friends to shout about Your goodness and faithfulness. We know that You are with us, for us, not against us. You have gone before us, stand behind us and are all around us. Help us hear the whisper of Your love louder than the shouts and screams of the demonic spirits that try to intimidate my friends. Silence now in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace is interceding for us. Thank you, God! We rejoice in Your glory!

I'm always just a message away, Dear Friend!

Is it a PRAYER Problem or a PRAISE Problem?

Have you subscribed to my YouTube channel yet?

Ever feel like you're in the thick of the battle...praying your guts out yet not seeming to find any relief? Gosh, I've SO been there! Many times....

May I suggest that it may be a shift of focus from prayer to PRAISE...

Sing for Joy

Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises. Psalm 98:4 (NASB)

Turn your prayers into praise and watch how things begin to shift! Peace and relief are on the way when you turn your prayers into praise...

Instead, glorify his mighty works, singing songs of praise (Job 36:24)

For real. Try it. Crank up some music and just go all out in worship. I assure you, it will be nearly impossible to stay down when your arms are raised and your dancing before your King!

The young women will dance for joy, and the men- old and young-will join in the celebration. I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing. - Jeremiah 31:13)

And for you research nerds like me, here's an awesome article I found from  Harvard Neuroscience Institute's article "Dancing and the Brain." . Check it out!

Take a trip down memory lane

Look at your HIStory...He has never left you! Meditate on your HIStory and recall all the times you felt downright down and out in despair or depression and remember how He brought you out. Start THANKING Him for His provision, deliverance, healing, breakthrough and peace you have experienced before and believe He's at work on your behalf. Don't let the devil deceive you into believing you're outside His grace. Refute those lies and begin decreeing and declaring with your God-given authority with boldness and audacity!

I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. - Luke 11:8 NIV

God will not violate His own promises.

Seek the Lord in prayer and ask God to help you recall promises in His Word that are specific to your need. If you are new to the bible, that's okay! My favorite tool is the YouVersion Bible App and Connect with me on there! --You'll get to see my raw, real, unfiltered study notes and highlights and join me in some amazing daily devotionals! Use the search and type in a keyword relative to your request (examples: healing, relationships, wisdom, breakthrough) and find verses that resonate with you.

Pray scriptures over yourself

Write them down and put them in plain view. Stop and reflect regularly to get out of the spin and find rest in Him.

Make it personal. Claim the promises by shifting to a personal pronoun. (See what I mean in the bold words below.)

Here are some beautiful blanket promises to get you started:

  • God has never and will never leave me or forsake me. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
  • Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)
  • God works ALL things together for my good because He loves me. (Romans 8:28)

Tip: Ask Siri to remind you at a certain time of day to have a "Selah" moment. A chance to pause and ponder in meditative prayer. Sit and seek what the Lord is saying break in the day!

I'd be honored to stand with you in prayer and praise.

Warring in the Spirit

2016 was a year of being faced with challenges that I embraced as an invitation for growth. Most of it was hard. REALLY hard as I struggled with a broken heart, massive confusion, and the resounding question of "What Now?" It was a year of learning the reality of spiritual warfare in a whole new way. Today I'd like to share with you 4 fantastic elements of Warring in the Spirit:

1. Internal Investigation

When I was in the midst of the battle, feeling entirely disconnected with myself in disharmony and internal dissension I fought hard to overcome any and all areas of myself that may have been sick or out of alignment. It took dedicated and intentional time with the Lord to reveal the roots of hurt and heal my heart.

Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I’m about; See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong- then guide me on the road to eternal life.
— Psalm 139:22-23 MSG

Part of that process was participating in Kris Vallotton's eCourse on Bethel.tv, "Spirit Wars."

One {of the many} things that was highlighted to me is the fact that we're not "bipolar" beings but actually TRIPOLAR {Body, Soul and Spirit}. I put in a ton of work to address each facet of my being to come into a pure, clean place with myself and with God.

The result = HARMONY. My connection to God has become stronger than ever. I've also become more comfortable being me and embracing how He's made me and see beyond into how He continues to develop and prepare me for the plans He has for me.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.
— Jeremiah 29:11

2. Observation

I've also learned to see beyond the natural in others as well. My discerner is working now better than ever before. I've always been observant, but now when I see when someone else may be "out of alignment" I ask God to show me if it's a result from a heart posture issue that's become a pattern or if what I see is a one-time, uncharacteristic behavior.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
— Ephesians 6:12 NIV

3. Intercession

Learn to pray into what you see in the spirit and intercede in prayer by aligning your heart with Heaven; praying into His will for others. I consider this an honor as I get to "see into" the reality of what's happening instead of coming to a place inaccurate assessment {judgement}. This is the blessing of intercession!

We all have a story, a struggle and a soul. What you see is only a piece of the puzzle. Stand. Pray. Believe and SEE God's glory manifest in personal growth and spiritual maturity.

4. Celebration

I honestly can't count how many times I've seen the fruit of the spirit flourish in myself and others when I've obediently prayed into situations that seemed challenging and bleak. I've watched countless people grow past their limitations, set free from strongholds, delivered from unhealthy mindsets, repent from unwise behavior patterns, and GROW into a beautiful place of peace, harmony, strength, confidence and purpose. I've watched hardened hearts become soft. I've watched leaders rise. I've been blessed to be a witness!

  • Learn to see beyond the natural
  • Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit
  • Lean into intercessory prayer
  • Don't focus on the problem, pray into the solution.
  • Don't talk about it, pray about it.
  • Watch with excitement and expectation to see how God comes through!
